Discord will make content from its Discoverable Servers easier to find on the open web, the company said in a 27 October blog post. Discoverable Servers are its most public spaces, with at least 1,000 members. Discord says there are more than 63,000 of them. The changes apply only to these servers.
What changes, and when
- 16 November 2026: every Discoverable Server gets a Server Web Page, according to Discord. A default page is created from the Server Profile if admins have not published one. The page may also show AI-generated Channel Summaries of public-channel discussions.
- Mid-December 2026: some messages from public channels can appear on these pages and in web search, rolling out gradually over several weeks.
Discord says usernames and avatars will not be shown, and messages sent before mid-December are not included. Private servers, DMs and group DMs are excluded. Role-restricted channels are also excluded, according to its Help Center. Channels that take part are labelled.
In the EU, UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia and South Korea, the member setting is off by default, Discord says. Users in the teen age group are excluded entirely. Everywhere else the setting is on unless members turn it off.
How to opt out
Members: go to User Settings > Data & Privacy and turn off "Show my message content from Discoverable channels on web pages". One switch covers your Channel Messages in every Discoverable Server. It does not stop your discussions feeding into AI Channel Summaries, which only admins can turn off. Messages already published stay up unless you delete them.
Admins (desktop or browser only): go to Server Settings > Community > Web Presence. Channel Summaries and Channel Messages have separate toggles and separate channel lists, and both are on by default. Turning them off stops new content from appearing but does not remove what is already published. To remove the Server Web Page itself, turn off Discoverability, which reverts the server to a Community Server.
Discord notes that search engines may keep cached copies after deletion.
